Cariboo Toastmasters 50th AnniversaryCariboo Toastmasters is celebrating their 50th Anniversary. The Cariboo Toastmasters Club was first chartered on January 1958 in Prince George at the Shasta Cafe. Over the last 50 years, Cariboo Toastmasters has laid a foundation for future success. Some of the more notable Cariboo Toastmaster members of the past 50 years include: John Brink, founder of Brink Forest Products, John Noonan President of Toastmasters International, Bob Miller Dean of Business at CNC and many more. This also marks 50 years of Toastmasters in Prince George; there are now a total of 10 Toastmaster Clubs in the city plus many others in North Central BC. There are more Toastmaster clubs in Prince George per capita than anywhere else in the world. To mark the 50th anniversary, Cariboo Toastmasters has brought back an old tradition: the Toastmasters Dinner and Dance. This exciting event will be held March 8th at the Coast Inn of the North. Cocktails at 6:00, dinner 6:30. Master of Ceremonies, Glen Stanker, is putting together an entertaining program of honoured guests and keynote speakers from around the province which will be followed by the opportunity to kick up your heals to the hits of 1958, golden oldies and of course hits from the last 50 years! There will be fabulous door prizes including $400 West Jet Gift Certificate compliments of Summit Insurance. Tickets bought before January 31st, are $45/person, and between Feb 1st – March 1st, $55/person. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Contact Laura at 961-3477 for more information. |
